Top 10 papers for Non-Intrusive Appliance Load Monitoring (NIALM) - updated for 2011

Update: Top papers of 2012

About a year ago I posted a short list of some of the most useful papers for NIALM. Since then I have learnt a lot, found much more material and read many newly published papers. This post is intended as an update to the original list, containing what I now believe to be the most relevant and useful academic papers. Below is my top 10 papers for NIALM (in alphabetical order). Any comments and discussions are welcome!

  3. Excellent, I have currently implemented Voss and Baranski method for disaggregating the total load into single appliances, and the outcome of the technique is very good. These papers are also welcomed, and need to be studied !!

  4. Thank you so much for posting this list! It has been of great assistance! I'm wondering what an up-to-date list might look lime after the PSI NILM conference you presented at last May?

  5. Hi,

Thanks for the comment. I've been keeping track of a few papers since I wrote this post, and am planning to write an update later in the year of papers published in 2012. Feel free to suggest any you've come across that I should include.

I've just had a look at the regen group's website and it looks like you're doing some really interesting work. Have you delved into any NIALM research or deployment?

    Oli

  6. Hi Oli - I'm undertaking some top line research into NI(A)LM and came across your blog. I'd be interested to have a short conversation about the work you're doing and whether there are any specific sources I should be looking at. You can reach me on hugh@mc2marketreseach.co.uk. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks. Hugh
